Travel Tips for Sharjah

Scenery

The variety of scenery is simply stunning in Sharjah. The contrast of the breathtaking desert and numerous beaches attract thousands of tourists. The most beautiful part of the country is considered the East Coast with its sandy beaches lying against crystal blue waters of the Indian Ocean .

*Note that on public beaches women aren't allowed to wear swimsuits, so females are advised to dress appropriately.

Vehicle

Renting a vehicle is advised when in Sharjah since residential areas tend to be at quite of a distance from shops and schools. Other than taxi, there is no public transport available.

Climate

The best time to come to Sharjah is from November to April when it's warm and sunny with low humidity and cool evenings. The temperatures rarely go beyond 30 degrees Celsius. Tropical storms occur in the months of January, February and March.

From May to September, the temperature often exceeds 45 degrees Celsius with 100% humidity. There is no escape from the heat even at nights, when it hardly ever drops below 25 degrees Celsius.

Tours

Sharjah's proximity to a magnificent desert allows hours and even days of desert entertainment including: desert diving, camel riding, sand boarding, sand skiing and dune buggy driving. Often your hotel will have packaged tours that include one or all of the above mentioned. If you would prefer to arrange a tour with a tour agency then we recommend you utilise Orient Tours and SNTTA which are considered the best tour operation groups in Sharjah.
