Are Congenital Defects Covered?

Congenital Defects is another way of calling any problems that a baby is born with. Often they will be covered by an expatriate pregnancy insurance plan but could be subject to a waiting period.

Since not all of the maybe categories of birth defects that are provided below, will be covered by all pregnancy insurance plans, it is highly advisable for the expatriates to know before hand what is and what isn't covered by the plan.

Three main categories for birth defects are:

  • Congenital infections
  • Structural/metabolic
